Proud to Sponsor Casual Dining Category at Cumbria Food Awards 2027

Business Finance Cumbria is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the Casual Dining Category at the forthcoming Cumbria Food Awards 2027, which will take place at Kendal College in March 2027.

The awards celebrate the very best of Cumbria’s thriving food, drink and hospitality sector, recognising the businesses, entrepreneurs and skilled professionals whose passion, creativity and dedication have helped establish the county as one of the UK’s leading culinary destinations.

As an organisation that has supported hundreds of businesses across the region, Business Finance Cumbria is proud to champion a sector that continues to play a vital role in Cumbria’s economy, communities and visitor appeal. The organisation is also encouraging businesses, producers and hospitality operators from across the county to put themselves forward for recognition, with nominations and award entries opening on 11 November 2026.

Business Finance Cumbria is equally delighted by the recent announcement that renowned restaurateur, broadcaster and entrepreneur Nisha Katona MBE will host the awards ceremony. Known nationally as the founder of the acclaimed Mowgli Street Food restaurant group, Nisha has become one of the most recognisable and respected voices in British food and hospitality.

Her agreement to host the awards is particularly significant. It is no secret that Nisha is highly selective about the events with which she chooses to become involved, making her support for the Cumbria Food Awards especially meaningful. Like Business Finance Cumbria, she recognises the exceptional quality, innovation and resilience demonstrated by the county’s artisan food and drink producers, independent hospitality businesses, restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs.

The shared commitment to celebrating local enterprise, craftsmanship and sustainable growth makes her involvement a natural fit for an event that shines a spotlight on the very best of Cumbria.

Chief Executive, Grahame Latus said: “Cumbria’s food and hospitality sector is home to some truly outstanding businesses and individuals. We are proud to support the Casual Dining Category and to play a small part in recognising the people whose hard work and innovation continue to enhance the county’s reputation. We are also thrilled that Nisha Katona has agreed to host the awards. Her passion for championing independent food businesses mirrors our own commitment to supporting enterprise and helping local businesses flourish.”

Business Finance Cumbria looks forward to celebrating the finalists and winners in what promises to be another exceptional evening for Cumbria’s food and hospitality community and encourages businesses across the county to submit their nominations when entries open on 11 November.
